Buffalo Bill Cody
This year the state of Colorado, as well as many others, will celebrate the centenary of the death of the great scout and showman, William Frederick “Buffalo Bill” Cody. With state parks, museums and cultural institutions all over the country dedicated to his memory, his presence reaches far and wide even today.
With that in mind, here are some of the places dedicated to Buffalo Bill that are worthwhile to visit on this 100th Anniversary of his death. Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, WY, is five museums and a research library in one, housing a priceless antique gun collection and a world class collection of western art. The Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park in Northplatte, NE, was Buffalo Bill’s personal home and ranch encompassing 4,000 acres of land. Today, the ranch is a 16 acre state park that still has Buffalo Bill’s 1882 home standing on it.  And finally, visit the Buffalo Bill Grave and Museum in Golden, CO, where the man was laid to rest.
