FREE!! defines Colorado Book Festival

Colorado Book Festival

Colorado Book Festival
FREE!!
If that’s not the most popular word in the English language, it surely ranks up near the top.
And FREE!! applies to the inaugural Colorado Book Festival in two important ways.
First, admission to the Festival is FREE!!  That means anyone can enjoy a day with Colorado authors—starting with Gov. John Hickenlooper and continuing through a day of exciting activities—for no charge.
Second—and just as exciting—drawings for FREE!! books will be held every 15 minutes, starting at 11:15 a.m. And get this: There will be three winners each drawing. That’s more than 60 winners by the end of the Festival.
Everyone who attends the Festival and fills out an entry will be eligible for the drawings all day. If a winner isn’t present at the time his or her name is drawn, they’ll be contacted after the Festival and be able to choose their prize from the remaining titles.
The choices will range from children’s to history, to adventure and sports, to novels and cookbooks for Colorado cooking—a virtual library of reading enjoyment for the whole family.
The schedule of activities, which begins with Gov. Hickenlooper talking about his autobiography, The Opposite of Woe: My Life in Beer and Politics, at 10:15 a.m., includes:
Five guest speakers: Landscape photographer and author John Fielder; former Denver Post columnist Dick Kreck; Pulitzer Prize winner Elizabeth Fenn; and New York Times best-sellers Margaret Coel and Stephen Singular, with his wife Joyce and  their son Eric;
Seven panel discussions: Covering relationships, sports books, history, mysteries, poetry, cookbooks and getting published;
Storytime for children: Featuring 13 authors of Children’s and Young Adult books, each reading from their works at specific times through the day; and
Colorado Authors Expo: 60 Colorado authors displaying their books, meeting and talking with readers about them, and selling and signing titles as requested.
And all of that is FREE!!
As the saying goes, it’s a bargain at twice the price.
