Wow ~ Kids Are Fun!  Far from being a bunch of pictures of stodgy old people and long-gone buildings, our collection has bunches of fun photographs of children! From the many studio photos of children to all kinds of candid and staged shots, you can find great material that illustrates the wonderful world of boys and girls and their adventures.

Kids are fun to photograph, and make great subjects, when you can get them to hold still. Many photographers, eager to make new pictures at any opportunity, often turn their lenses on their own children, who are conveniently accessible and always delighted to see themselves made “famous” by being in a photograph. The image above is by Harry Rhoads, whose many photos of children can be browsed with a search such as “Rhoads children.”

More searches to try are simply words like “boy,” “girl,” or “children.” Remember too, that many of our images have incredible detail, and with enlargement, often just small vignettes of larger photographs can yield amazing material.

Many school photographs make amazing people watching. Try a search for “school group portrait” to see the many delightful class photos we have from countless western locations. Another variation is to search for “children Native American,” to see our many images of indigenous boys and girls and their long-lost worlds.
